The Daughters of the British Empire is an organization that provides its members with friendship and fun with other women while raising funds for worthwhile charities.
The Daughters of the British Empire was founded in 1909 and became known as the National Society of the Daughters of the British Empire in the USA in 1920.
It is a non-profit, non-political voluntary society of women of British or British Commonwealth birth or ancestry that reside in the United States.
Support of the four British Homes for retired men and women is the primary objective of the DBE. The secondary objective is for local philanthropy and to promote closer relations English speaking people within the community. Together with other members of the Midwestern District states, DBE in Kansas members work to support the British Home Community in Brookfield, Ill.
